Welcome to the 2010 Sport Chek Mother's Day Run & Walk!
It's time to start getting ready for the 33rd Annual Sport Chek Mother's Day Run & Walk in Calgary & the 15th Annual Sport Chek Mother's Day Run & Walk in Edmonton!
This event continues to be Alberta's largest family fundraising event…with over 20,000+ participants last year.
Proceeds from these two cities will be in support of the following:
CALGARY
Calgary Health Trust (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Special Care Nurseries at the Peter Lougheed, Rockyview & Foothills Hospitals)
2010 Event Dates:
- Fitness Fair (Friday, May 7th & Saturday, May 8th)
- Run & Walk (Sunday, May 9th)
2010 Equipment that will be purchased
- Three Giraffe Spot Phototherapy Systems
This will make it easier to treat jaundice and promote development in newborns while enabling infant-parent bonding.
- Portable ECG Monitor
This will combine portability and measurement flexibility to match the pace and unique needs of intermediate care environments – at the patient’s side.
- Two Veinviewers
This will make IV access easier and minimize the number of pokes a baby will receive.
- Infant Flow SiPAP Units
This will gently and effectively provide non-invasive respiratory support to infants with respiratory disease.
- Two Giraffe Bili Blankets
This is another type of light that is used to treat jaundice and is a blanket system that can be placed under the baby or wrapped around the baby.
- Five Phototherapy Warming Lights

2010 Equipment that will be purchased
- 12 Lead ECG PageWriter
The high performance PageWriter cardiograph speeds the care process from downloading orders, taking an ECG and identifying critical test results to enable clinicians to quickly provide needed cardiac treatment.
- MP30 Monitor
This high performance portable bedside monitoring system provides powerful monitoring capability and essential measurements and will be used when patients need to be transferred from the Emergency Department to other departments within the Stollery.
- MP70 Monitor
This monitor also provides high-performance monitoring for critical and intermediate care settings and will be the main cardiac monitor in the Trauma room and will not be portable.
